Supporting All Faculty

The University of St. Thomas Center for Faculty Development supports the professional growth of faculty by providing programming and grants in the areas of pedagogy, scholarship, and professional engagement. By such support, the Center works to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in our classrooms and across the University.

To further its mission, the Center:

  • Fosters research and scholarship with a variety of grant programs
  • Creates and administers programming that is responsive to faculty needs in accordance with their knowledge, expertise, and professional goals
  • Aims to cultivate effective pedagogy and promote collaborative learning communities
  • Assists faculty with understanding diversity, equity and inclusion, and advancing their skills in these areas

Research & Scholarship

Faculty are part of a vibrant community of scholar-teachers at St. Thomas, focusing on important questions, working across disciplines, and advancing knowledge for the common good. In addition to our internal grants program, there are many external resources available to advance faculty research.

St. Thomas ELearning & Research (STELAR)

STELAR partners with Faculty Development to provide faculty learning opportunities related to course design best practices, online and blended teaching techniques, and accessibility practices.

Adjunct Faculty Council

We work closely with the Adjunct Faculty Council to support and address the needs of Adjunct Faculty. The Faculty Development Committee, which oversees our internal grants, includes adjunct faculty representation.
