Hispanic Student Programming

The United States Conference of Bishops and V Encuentro called on Campus Ministries to create spaces for the growing population of Hispanic young adults in colleges and universities. We at Campus Ministry have been offering culturally appropriate programming opportunities for Hispanic students with the aim of building community and celebrating and enriching their faith and traditions.

We invite you to take the opportunity to connect with other Hispanic students on campus on a faith-related basis.

"Campus Ministry's Hispanic programming offers me an opportunity to grow in my faith in community, to have a place to represent my roots by giving me a home far away from home."
- Emilia Zúniga' 26

caFE y Amigos

Celebrando la Fe juntos - Monthly gatherings with food and fellowship. This event is brought to students by a collaboration between Campus Ministry and Catholic Studies Guadalupe Scholars with the aim to offer Latino students the opportunity to gather to celebrate their faith together.

Hispanic Student Retreats

Since 2015, this event has nurtured students' experiences of faith and community. This initiative was born to meet the need for students to connect and share their faith in their own language, to create space for community - a central aspect of Hispanic culture, and to connect with other students of faith.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a central celebration for Latino communities. At St. Thomas, we celebrate with a bilingual Mass, Serenata, and Fiesta, where students share their love for Our Lady and the significance of this festivity for the immigrant communities.

Las Posadas

This traditional Christmas celebration in Latin America commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem seeking a safe place for Mary to give birth to baby Jesus. The theme of knocking on doors and being rejected offers space for reflection on the reality of immigrant communities today.

Misa y Mesa

Join us for a monthly Spanish Mass with fellowship afterward. Open to everyone.

Student Testimonial

"CaFe y Amigos has provided me with an opportunity to connect with other Latinos/Hispanics on campus to share and express our faith. Not only there is delicious food at every meeting, but it also provides a setting to form and develop meaningful relationships."

I am from Cancun, Mexico. What I love about Latino Outreach is that it keeps me closer to my traditions from back home. My favorite celebrations are "Las Posadas" and "Our lady of Guadalupe."
